 Topical gel are generally given to patients with severe acne which contains Azelaic acid as an alternative choice to benzoyl peroxide and it is a softer solution that prevents soreness of the skin.  Drugs that are based primarily on vitamin An are also preferred in the treatment of spots like Topical retinoids.  It promotes peeling of the skin and it is rub a couple of times a day depending on your zits severity.  It is applied in the skin along with an antibacterial lotion to govern the peeling. 


Oral treatments are also very effective in the treatment of spots.  However oral treatments cannot stop pore blockage, so it is mostly prescribed together with benzoyl peroxide. 


Isotretinoin is a form of drugs called oral retinoid, it could also comes in a gel form that dries up blemishs.  It is mostly prescribed to patients with harsh acne that doesn't seem to improve with milder preparations and with the supervision of a skin specialist.  Though using Isotrtinoin have serious side effects such as depression and disorder of the liver. 


Blemish treatment needs patience, as it will take many months before you will see obvious results.  It's also critical that you are educated about your present position to avoid wasting of time and money experimenting for the incorrect pimple treatments products.
